Western Reserve Academy is beaming with pride after our Girls Varsity Basketball team’s outstanding performance in the 2025 Girls Hoop Series at the Girls National Prep Championship. Held at the University of St. Joseph in West Hartford, CT, this prestigious tournament brought together top prep school teams from across the country, and our Pioneers proved they belong among the best.

Led by Head Coach Thomas Adams-Wall and showcasing grit, determination and undeniable skill, WRA battled their way to the championship game, securing thrilling victories over IMG Academy (FL) and Newman School (MA). In the finals, our girls fought shot for shot in an intense showdown but came up just short, falling 52-56 in a hard-fought contest to Tilton School, the defending champions. Though the final score wasn’t in our favor, our Pios’ relentless spirit and competitive fire make us all proud.

The entire team showcased remarkable play, with standout contributions from Brooklyn Hall ’26, Maya Nahar ’25, Lilah Turnbull ’25, Islay Moore ’25, Sheridan Oberhand ’25, Alia Cordone ’25, Glory Kabia ’25 and Emerie Davis ’27. Every player demonstrated skill, perseverance and the true essence of Pioneer pride.

While the scoreboard may not have reflected a championship win, this team’s journey and performance were nothing short of extraordinary. Their dedication, teamwork and unwavering fight exemplify the heart of WRA athletics. We couldn’t be more proud of our Pioneers — congratulations on an unforgettable season!
