This week, we have our eyes on Worcester, Massachusetts where our top basketball athletes are heading to compete in the National Prep Championship series. According to Boys Basketball Head Coach Matt Garvey, this is the first time in WRA history where both the Varsity Boys and Varsity Girls teams have qualified to compete in this tournament. The competition begins tomorrow for the boys at Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts and runs until March 7, and the girls will compete from March 7–8.
The boys are entering with a record of 27-4, in a field of 15 other teams.
The girls compete in a field of 7 teams, entering the competition with a record of 15-6. They are the fourth seed in the inaugural girls national prep championship.
Over the past several years, the basketball program at Reserve has grown exponentially in recognition and success with strong seasons and top college outcomes. Congratulations are already in order for both teams, and we can’t wait to follow their games this week, cheering them on from afar. Go Pios!
