Alumna Jada Kenner ’24 has wasted no time making an impact at Emory University. In just her first year, she’s already breaking records and earning national recognition. Competing recently at the Tufts National Qualifier in Medford, Massachusetts, Kenner set a new program record in the 60-meter dash, clocking in at an impressive 7.59 seconds. That time places her in 12th in the NCAA Division III and second in the highly competitive University Athletic Association (UAA).
With this performance, Kenner secured her place at the 2025 NCAA DIII Indoor Track & Field Championship, where she will represent Emory in both the Women’s 60-Meter Dash prelims and the Women’s 4x400 Meter Relay. Her achievements have also earned her a spot as one of just seven athletes named to the University Athletic Association Athlete of the Week — her first weekly honor at Emory, but surely not her last.
Kenner’s record-breaking debut is a continuation of excellence she demonstrated both academically and athletically here at Western Reserve Academy. Here, she was the recipient of the Gold Medal award, the highest honor a WRA athlete can receive. Kenner was also a scholar, a captain, a leader and a friend to many — we are proud to see her soar (like the Emory Eagle she is!) Now competing on the national stage, she is proving that her speed and determination know no limits.
Congratulations to Kenner on her incredible start at Emory. We can’t wait to see what she accomplishes next.
