Alumni News: Jay Yoo '88, does good deed for cityMarch 15, 2010 A WRA alumnus, Jay Yoo '88, started CLE-1 in response to a negative Forbes article about Cleveland. We're coming to the West Coast! March 2, 2010 Join the Alumni & Development Office on the West Coast and reconnect with your fellow alumni at two special events planned for the month of March. Alumni celebrate playwright's debut February 26, 2010 Alumni in the Philadelphia area in late January celebrated the opening of The Eclectic Society, a play by Eric Conger '64. Morley presentation goes 'global' February 25, 2010 Dr. William Shilts '59, executive director of the Institute of Natural Resource Sustainability at the University of Illinois and the recipient of the 2009 Morley Science Medal. Alumni/student forums planned February 25, 2010 The forums bring groups of WRA alumni back to campus to talk with current students about the transition from high school to college and adulthood. Yale students nominate WRA teachers for awards November 16, 2009 Yale University's Office of Undergraduate Admissions recently honored Western Reserve Academy faculty members Marie Fiedler and Diccon Ong as recipients of the 2009 Yale Educator Award. Alumna opens gallery in Hudson November 2, 2009 The community is invited to the Nov. 6 grand opening of the Helen Strong Gallery and Studio, 72 N. Main St., from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Reserve's college-age alums working to change the world June 5, 2009 This piece highlights four alumni college students and their amazing journeys since their Reserve years. Dalgarno Earns Second All-America Honor May 27, 2009 For the second-consecutive season, Ohio State attackman Joel Dalgarno '05 has been named an honorable mention USILA All-American, the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association announced. University of Wisconsin-Madison's diversity chief is Damon Williams '90 March 12, 2009 The University of Wisconsin-Madison's new chief diversity officer wants to make one thing clear about his role on campus. Dale G. Kramer '70, new Director of MBA/EMBA at Baldwin-Wallace February 25, 2009 Dale G. Kramer, MBA, of Broadview Heights, is the new the Director of the MBA/EMBA at Baldwin-Wallace College. Marticke speaker series hosts Rob Tercek '81 February 5, 2009 A Western Reserve Academy graduate and entrepreneur told students he invented every job he held, and advised students to invent their own futures. Robert Tercek, 45, who graduated from WRA in 1981 and Williams College in 1985, spoke Jan. 30. Reserve alumnus receives All-American title December 16, 2008 Stuart Horgan exemplifies the successful student-athlete. His hard work in the class room was recently recognized when he was honored as a 2007-08 National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association/Speedo high school academic All-American. Robert Tercek '81 named president of Digital Media OWN October 22, 2008 Beginning in Nov., Tercek will join the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) as the president of the Digital Media group. Reserve alum will run big bailout October 7, 2008 Neel Kashkari, a 1991 graduate of Western Reserve Academy and assistant secretary for international affairs in the U.S. Treasury, will oversee the government's bailout program. New Board of Trustees co-president named September 8, 2008 Peter Hellman '68, a current member of Western Reserve Academy's Board of Trustees, is assuming the position of co-president of the Board. He joins Mark Tercek '75, who has been serving as president of the Board since 2006. Kuri is director of special projects at the Cleveland Foundation. New Head of School Announcement November 28, 2007 Board of Trustees President Mark Tercek '75 has announced the selection of Christopher Burner '80 to serve as WRA's new head of school effective July 1, 2008. Londoners enjoy an evening with Dr. Flanagan September 25, 2007 London-based alums joined Skip Flanagan at the Rock Garden Restaurant on September 12, 2007, for an evening out.
